ZeroCharge Terms and Conditions

Welcome to ZeroCharge. By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Overview

ZeroCharge provides free websites for tradesmen and other small businesses. While the website build is free, hosting and domain registration are required like any website. Our service includes:

• Managed hosting with small content changes (text, images, minor updates) handled by ZeroCharge.

• One email account with 1GB storage (upgradable to 10GB for an additional £2.99 per month).

2. Hosting and Payments

• Monthly Hosting Fee: £13.99/month. Hosting must remain with ZeroCharge.

• Hosting Requirement: The website cannot be transferred to another hosting provider. Ultimately, this free website project cannot work if websites are not hosted with ZeroCharge.

• Domain Name Registration: The customer is responsible for the annual domain registration fee. Currently £14.99/year.

• Payment Terms:

  • There is no long-term contract.

  • If a payment is missed, a 7-day grace period applies.

  • After 7 days, if payment has not been received, your website may be taken offline.

• Price Adjustments: Hosting fees may increase over time but generally will remain close to the current rate. Any increase will be modest and communicated in advance.

3. Website Management

• Customers currently cannot edit their own website. All minor content changes (text, images, minor updates) are handled by ZeroCharge. This helps minimise bugs and security issues.

• Any additional work outside the scope of minor content changes will be quoted at a fair and reasonable rate. This whole project idea is to stop people getting ripped off, so hopefully you can trust any paid extra work will be at a very fair rate.

4. Responsibilities and Limitations

• ZeroCharge is not responsible for:

  • Website downtime caused by third-party hosting providers or technical glitches.

  • Malware or security breaches, though regular security checks are carried out.

  • Missed domain renewals or email service interruptions.

• ZeroCharge may cancel your plan at any time in the event of inappropriate behaviour or misuse of the service.

• While ZeroCharge will make every effort to maintain and update your website, third-party platforms and services can sometimes experience issues beyond our control.

5. Email Services

• You receive one email account with 1GB storage.

• Upgrades are available: a 10GB email box is available for £2.99 per month.

6. Simple Rules

1. No long-term contract.

2. Hosting must remain with ZeroCharge; the website cannot be transferred.

3. Managed hosting covers small content changes.

4. Additional work outside minor updates will be quoted fairly. This whole project idea is to stop people getting ripped off, so hopefully you can trust any paid extra work will be at a very fair rate.

5. Hosting fees may increase slightly over time.

6. One email account is included; upgrades are available.

7. General Terms

• These terms may be updated from time to time. Users will be notified of any material changes.

• By using ZeroCharge services, you agree to comply with these terms.

• These terms constitute the full agreement between the customer and ZeroCharge regarding the services provided.
